The State of Finland’s Development Policy in 2014: Coherently towards equal opportunities

The Development Policy Committee’s annual review this year concentrates on policy coherence for development, i.e. that the perspective of development policy is taken into consideration in the decision making in all policy areas affecting developing countries. The aim should be that decisions support the achievement of global development goals – the eradication of poverty and sustainable development.

Five policy areas were chosen for closer examination: foreign economic relations and trade policy, taxation, security and crisis management, and immigration, as well as climate policy.
