Despite ongoing uncertainty about the war’s progression, it is critical to start planning for Ukraine’s recovery, and its economic and social reconstruction. Given the scale of the matter at stake, and its multidimensional and interconnected challenges, the need for multistakeholder policy intervention has never been higher. The input of stakeholders from both public and private sectors will be key in securing economic and social stabilization and recovery in Ukraine.
On 9 May UNU-WIDER hosts a high-level panel discussion bringing together international academics and national government representatives from Finland and Ukraine to debate new research and current policy challenges in the stabilization, recovery, and reconstruction of Ukraine.
This policy panel event offers a forum for debate and dialogue with valuable knowledge exchange between researchers and policy experts to inform decision making and policy reform processes. It will begin with a presentation by Patricia Justino, UNU-WIDER Deputy Director, and is followed by an engaging panel discussion between key policy stakeholders, including Maksym Kravchuk, Deputy Ambassador of Ukraine to Finland, Inka Hopsu, Member of Parliament and Chairperson of the Development Policy Committee of Finland, and Tanja Rajamäki, Officer in Charge for Development Cooperation in Ukraine, Unit for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
